Piedmont has an important tradition in confectionery production and bakery products that can be traced back to history, popular and religious rites, its culture and the abundant availability of ingredients: from milk and dairy products, to grain, corn, rice, honey, fruit, hazelnuts, chestnuts, wine and aromatic wines. These are products which were invented and enhanced by a historic, renowned and prestigious class of pastry chefs, artisans of sweets and chocolate, in addition to a strong and dynamic confectionary industry.
