from Robilante to Limone Piemonte

Description

Situated in the heart of a flat hallow rich in chestnut trees, Robilante is the starting point of our tour in the Vermegnana Valley. The natural vocation for cereal farming, which characterizes this valley, has left numerous traces such as an ancient stone mill for corn milling. A stopover in Robilante can be the occasion to taste excellent polenta prepared with the food flours of the Vermignana Valley, the stone milling of which allows the organoleptic peculiarities of the raw materials to be maintained. We leave Robilante and go in the direction of Vernante, a municipality that is part of the Nature Park of the Maritime Alps with important protected areas such as the Beech Wood and Palanfrè Lakes Nature Reserve, characterised by large prairies and a beech forest. Continuing our tour, we arrive in Limone Piemonte, a renowned winter and summer tourist destination which offers several opportunities for naturalistic, historical and religious itineraries. Worthy of mention is St Pietro in Vincoli Parish Church, one of the most precious monuments with the Romanesque bell tower and the Castle of Lascaris. Limonetto is a ski resort located a few kilometres from Limone: from here you can enter the White Reserve and then the Tenda Hill.
