from Piossasco to Rivoli
Description
Situated between the areas of Pinerolo and the Sangone Valley, Piossasco has a rich and fascinating history linked to its medieval past with important monuments like Castles, the Church of San Vito and other beautiful aristocratic homes. Mount San Giorgio with its altitude of 837 m is without a doubt a privileged point of observation. For those who love local products, there are numerous gastronomic proposals like the Sangiorgini, biscuits made from cornflour and raisins. From Piossasco we proceed to Rivalta di Torino in the valley of the River Sangone. We particularly recommend the medieval Castle, and for cheese lovers, it is a must to sample the Tomino cheese di Rivalta, a raw paste cheese made from cow's milk. We end our journey at Rivoli home of the Castle of the same name that houses the Museum of Modern Art. From Belvedere, which is near the castle we can admire the vast panorama that embraces Turin and the hill of Maddalena.
